  • Turnover in the industrial laundry services sector exceeded €1.0 billion in 2025, after growing 4.7% that year and 7.8% in 2024, marking continued slowing in growth, in line with the hotel sector's trajectory.

  • The sector shows a high degree of business concentration, with the top five operators accounting for 61% of market value.

  • INFORMA's DBK Sectoral Observatory recently published these insights in the basic 'Industrial Laundry Services' Sectoral Report.

Madrid, 17 March 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatory—a leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugal—sales in the industrial laundry services sector performed favourably in 2025, although they slowed again as growth eased in some of the main client sectors.

As a result, market value stood at €1,010 million in 2025, representing growth of 4.7%, versus 7.8% in the previous year and 15.5% in 2023.

By client sector, demand from the hotel sector slowed, amid the smaller increase in the number of travellers and overnight stays recorded in 2025. Nevertheless, this segment remains the most important, accounting for 54% of sector revenue.

Next came the healthcare sector (hospitals, clinics and homes for the aged), which represented 27% of the total, followed by restaurants (11%) and industrial companies and other clients (8%).

The market will continue to grow over 2026-2027. However, the slowdown trend will persist, against a backdrop of weaker overall economic activity and softening household consumption, meaning the increase in sector revenue could be around 3-4% per year over this period.

Most companies operating in the sector are small and run a single site. However, alongside them there is a small number of operators of some size with several sites and broad geographic diversification.

Leading operators carried out acquisitions in recent years, resulting in a higher degree of concentration.

As a result, the sector shows high business concentration: the top five operators held a combined 61% market share in 2024; the top ten competitors, 68%.
