Spain's dental laboratories sector reaches turnover of €550 million
-
Turnover generated by the dental laboratories sector stood at €550 million in 2025, after three fiscal years recording growth rates of around 5% per year, in a context marked by the population's growing concern about dental health and aesthetics.
-
In recent years, the formation of business groups of a certain size was recorded following the acquisition of independent dental laboratories. Nevertheless, the sector still shows high fragmentation.
-
INFORMA's DBK Sectoral Observatory recently published these insights in the 'Dental Laboratories' Special Report.
Madrid, 19 February 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatory—a leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugal—the dental laboratories market reached a value of €550 million in 2025, up 5.8% year-over-year, after rising 6.1% in the previous fiscal year.
Turnover growth in recent years was underpinned by favourable economic conditions, rising demand for dental services, and the development of new product and service lines by companies.
In the coming years, sector activity will continue to be shaped by expected demand growth, underpinned by the population's growing concern about dental health and aesthetics, the expansion of dental clinics, and the development of new technologies and treatments. In this context, the value of the dental laboratories market will maintain sustained growth in the short to medium term.
In Spain, over 1,500 dental laboratories are estimated to be operating, most of them located in Andalusia, Catalonia, Madrid and the Valencian Community, which account for around 60% of the total.
The business structure is characterised by notable supply fragmentation, with a large number of small companies predominating, each operating a single laboratory.
Alongside these, a small number of business groups operate, having achieved significant growth in recent years, mainly via the acquisition of independent dental laboratories operating across different locations.
Acquisitions carried out by the leading operators in recent years resulted in a gradual increase in the level of business concentration, although the sector remains highly fragmented.
As a result, the top five operators by revenue in Spain held close to 21% of the total market in 2024; the top ten, around 25%.
