INFORMA's DBK Sectoral Observatory recently published these insights in the basic 'Temporary Work' Sectoral Report.
Madrid, 8 September 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatory—a leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugal—turnover generated by temporary work companies reached €6.78 billion in 2025, representing a 9% increase year-over-year, after growing by 10.5% in 2024.
This trend took place amid the favourable performance of Spain's labour market. The number of temporary agency contracts stood at 4.51 million in 2025, up 10.7% from the previous year, a similar rate to that recorded in 2024.
By type, contracts linked to production-related circumstances gained ground and accounted for 54% of the total in 2025, with 2.43 million contracts. Fixed-discontinuous contracts represented 44%, at around €2.00 million, while replacement contracts accounted for close to 2%.
The regional breakdown shows that Catalonia and Madrid jointly accounted for 36% of temporary agency contracts. Next came Comunidad Valenciana with 12%, followed by Murcia (11%) and Andalusia (10%).
As regards the supply structure, the number of authorised temporary work companies stood at 218 in March 2026, one more than in December 2025, although nine fewer than at year-end 2024. Catalonia and Madrid accounted for around 24% of the total at that date.
Short- and medium-term forecasts point to the continuation of a favourable trend, although with some moderation in the growth rate of the number of contracts. In this scenario, the sector's leading operators will continue to strengthen their diversification strategies into other areas within human resources, as a route to business growth and improved profitability.
Corporate moves in recent years have helped to progressively increase concentration on the supply side. The top five companies jointly accounted for 52% of total market value in 2024, rising to close to 68% when considering the top ten.
