Revenue in Spain's inspection and certification services sector is approaching €2.5 billion

Madrid, 1 September 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatory, a leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugal, the inspection and certification services sector generated revenue of around €2.45 billion in 2025, up 4.3% year-over-year.
The inspection business grew by 4.0% compared with 2024, reaching €2.185 billion and accounting for nearly 90% of the total market.
The vehicles technical inspection segment became the main growth driver, posting an increase of 7.3% to €885 million, boosted by growth in the fleet of vehicles subject to mandatory inspections. The number of inspections carried out in 2025 stood at 22.9 million, up 4.4% on the previous fiscal year.
Sectoral inspection, which accounted for almost 60% of the inspection market, grew by 2.0% to €1.3 billion, with industrial inspection the leading activity within this segment.
The certification segment generated revenue of around €265 million, up 6.0%, driven by demand for certifications for ISO 9001 quality management systems and ISO 14001 environmental management, among others.
In 2025, a total of 457 companies were accredited by the National Accreditation Body (ENAC) to carry out inspection activities, three more than the previous year. The number of accreditations reached 528, also slightly above the 2024 figure. In certification, the total number of accreditations stood at 422, up 2.2%. Product, process or service certification accounted for 61%, and management systems certification for 31%.
The sector maintained a high degree of supply-side concentration, with the top five operators holding a combined market share of 42% in 2025, while the top ten reached 57.5%. This latter figure rose to 88% in the certification segment.
