Turnover in Spain's courier services sector reached €10.1 billion in 2025
-
The market value of courier services rose 4.7% in 2025, reaching €10.1 billion. This increase, although slightly below the previous year's figure, came amid slower price growth, but with demand performing well.
-
The business parcel segment grew slightly faster than the market overall and now accounts for nearly three quarters of the total.

INFORMA's DBK Sectoral Observatory recently published these insights in the 'Courier Services' Sectoral Report.
Madrid, 22 September 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatory—a leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugal—revenue from courier and parcel services totalled €10.1 billion in 2025, up 4.7% on 2024.
Despite slower growth, the market maintained a positive trend, supported by favourable economic conditions and rising demand for parcel services, especially among businesses. E-commerce also remains a key pillar underpinning sector growth, boosting demand for logistics services.
The business parcel segment, with turnover of €7.5 billion, 74% of the total market, remained the main growth engine for the sector after posting a 4.9% rise. Industrial parcel revenue increased 4.0%, to €2.6 billion.
Domestic activity, which accounted for 75% of the market, saw revenue rise 4.9%, while turnover from international operations grew 3.9%, exceeding €2.5 billion.
The number of companies in the sector, recorded in the Central Business Register (DIRCE) under postal and courier activities, reached 33,468 in 2025, up 20% on 2024, while the number of premises rose to nearly 35,000. Madrid accounted for 24% of the total number of companies, followed by Catalonia and Andalusia.
Looking ahead to year-end 2026, market value growth is expected to remain moderate, against a backdrop of slower GDP and private consumption growth, both rising at rates below those seen in 2025. Volatility in oil prices and inflation are also putting pressure on demand, driving a rebound in procurement costs and a fall in margins.
Despite the high fragmentation of the business landscape, the market showed notable concentration. The top ten companies held 60% of the total in 2025, with shares rising to 76% and 73% among the top ten business and industrial parcel operators, respectively. Spanish capital remains in the majority, although there is a significant presence of foreign shareholders, mainly from the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, among others.
