Turnover in Spain's consultancy sector exceeds €25 billion
-
Turnover in the consultancy sector posted positive performance in 2025, albeit with continued slowing in growth, after several fiscal years of strong expansion. Total revenue reached €25.1 billion, up 5.9%.
-
The sector comprises a large number of companies. However, the many mergers and acquisitions are driving a trend towards rising concentration among the leading operators, with the top ten accounting for 56.6% of the total market in 2025.

INFORMA's DBK Sectoral Observatory recently published these insights in the 'Consultancy Firms' Sectoral Report.
Madrid, 4 June 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatory—a leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugal—turnover in the consultancy sector maintained the growth trend seen in previous fiscal years in 2025, albeit at a more moderate pace.
Total sector revenue rose 5.9%, reaching €25.1 billion, after the 7.2% increase recorded in 2024. This performance reflected demand that remained favourable, albeit constrained by a less expansionary economic backdrop.
Market performance continued to be supported, among other factors, by momentum in digitalisation processes among companies and public administrations, the development of artificial intelligence solutions, stronger cybersecurity, and the rollout of projects linked to European funds.
Revenue in Spain reached €19.0 billion, up 6.0%, supported by the economy's strong performance, with gross domestic product rising 2.8% and solid business investment growth.
The information technology and IT outsourcing segment, the largest by far, posted revenue of €15.575 billion, up 5.2%. It therefore went on to account for 82% of domestic revenue. The strategy, operations and processes segment showed stronger momentum, rising 9.6% to €3.425 billion.
Revenue from abroad stood at €6.1 billion, up 5.6%. As a result, nearly a quarter of total turnover was generated outside the domestic market.
Despite the large number of operators, supply shows a high and rising degree of concentration, reinforced by numerous corporate transactions, mainly acquisitions of small and medium-sized companies by large groups. In 2025, the top five groups accounted for 36.5% of revenue in Spain; the top ten, 56.6%.
