  • The combined turnover of cosmetic surgery clinics, ophthalmology clinics and branded dental clinic chains stood at €2.525 billion in 2025, up 6.5% year-over-year. This marked the fifth consecutive year of growth, albeit with signs of slowing.

  • Most business came from branded dental clinic chains, which posted revenue of €1.415 billion after growing 7.6%, lifting their share of this market to 56%.

  • INFORMA's DBK Sectoral Observatory recently published these insights in the ‘Specialized Medical Centers’ Sectoral Report.

Madrid, 5 November 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatory—a leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugal—turnover in specialised medical centres, including cosmetic surgery clinics, ophthalmology clinics and branded dental clinic chains, recorded its fifth consecutive year of growth in 2025. This was supported by rising demand amid the population's growing interest in health and personal image. Nevertheless, activity showed a certain continued slowing in growth.

Total turnover generated by these operators reached €2.525 billion, representing a 6.5% increase from 2024, when it had grown 7.5%.

Branded dental clinic chains remained the largest segment, with revenue of €1.415 billion and growth of 7.6%, lifting their share to 56% of total turnover.

Meanwhile, ophthalmology clinics posted revenue of €770 million, up 6.2%, moderating their pace of growth from 2024 (+8.2%), and generated just over 30% of the market. Cosmetic surgery clinics, more exposed to trends in disposable income and intense price competition, raised their turnover 3.0%, to €340 million.

The sector's supply is characterised by the predominance of independent clinics and companies operating a single site, alongside chains and groups with extensive clinic networks that have achieved a strong position in the sector.

Some of the largest groups include leading health insurance groups and hospital groups, particularly in the ophthalmology and dental segments, which have developed their own networks of specialised centres.

The overall market shows a high degree of concentration, with the top five operators accounting for nearly 50% of total turnover in 2025; the top ten held a combined share above 65%.
