INFORMA's DBK Sectoral Observatory recently published these insights in the 'Alarm Central Stations' Special Report.
Madrid, 26 March 2026.- According to INFORMA's (Cesce's subsidiary) DBK Sectoral Observatoryâa leading provider of business, financial, sectoral, and marketing information in Spain and Portugalâthe number of active connections to alarm central stations ended fiscal year 2025 at an estimated figure of around 3.62 million, representing an increase of 6.2% year-over-year.
This progress consolidated the sector's expansionary trend, albeit at a more mature stage, characterised by more moderate growth rates compared with those recorded in the second half of the previous decade, and intensifying competition in both acquisition and retention.
The residential segment strengthened its leading role in business expansion, compared with the professional segment, which shows greater maturity and limited growth capacity.
Turnover from connection fees to alarm central stations was estimated at around €1.8 billion in 2025.
Recent growth in turnover from the provision of CRA connection services outpaced the increase in the number of connections, due to fee updates in an inflationary environment and the rising penetration of value-added services, which lifted average revenue per connection.
The many mergers and acquisitions, together with the closure of some low-profit companies, explain the decline in the number of operators, which tends to increase supply-side concentration.
In December 2025, the top five operators jointly accounted for nearly 85% of the total number of active CRA connections.
Short- and medium-term forecasts point to moderate growth in the number of active connections, supported mainly by the residential segment. In this area, collaboration between telecommunications operators and alarm companies is intensifying.
